Daniel Orrantia Gómez is an international improvisation performer, director, teacher, and creator dedicated to exploring what happens when improvisation meets other theatrical languages.

He is the Artistic Director of BUENA ONDA – International Improvisation Festival, a growing platform for artistic exchange and professional development in improvisation, founded in Bogotá and now expanding internationally with editions in Colombia and Mexico. Through BUENA ONDA, Daniel brings together artists from different countries and disciplines to create new collaborations, develop performers, and explore the many possibilities of improvised theatre.

As a performer and teacher, Daniel has toured extensively around the world, sharing workshops and performances in Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Australia. After years of international work with Speechless – An Improvised Show with No Words, he is now developing a new generation of performances and educational proposals that draw from his experience in improvisation while opening the door to other theatrical forms.

His current creative research includes Bouffon, physical theatre, devised theatre, composition, storytelling, and other hybrid approaches, looking for unexpected intersections between improvisation and established theatrical techniques. His workshops and projects are designed as spaces for experimentation, where performers can develop new tools while challenging their usual ways of creating on stage.

Daniel will be back in Europe in autumn 2026, continuing his international tour with performances, workshops, and collaborations. He will return again in early 2027 and throughout the summer, continuing to build connections with artists, companies, festivals, and communities interested in developing the possibilities of improvisation.
